Doomsday Bunkers Show Season 1 Episode 1

First Episode Premiere of Doomsday Bunkers on The Discovery Channel???
(Part 1 of 3 Recap)

Within a few weeks after the Doomsday Preppers first Premiered on the National Geographic Channel on February 7, 2012, The Discovery Channel launched their own version Doomsday Bunkers on March 7, 2012. Both survival shows are about folks prepping for the unknown future our world holds for us and most likely had a lot to do with the coming 12/21/2012. The Show wastes no time diving into the almost secret world of Doomsday Preppers and the great lengths some people are preparing for many different types of catastrophic events that would change the world as we know it, forever.

The Doomsday Bunkers Show gets started off by introducing Scott Bales, the owner of Deep Earth Bunkers that build custom underground shelter's from several thousand dollars to several million depending on the customers request. What started off as a business building storm shelters, has now grown into a very profitable business building underground bunkers that resemble more of a modern day home above ground with all it's amenities.

Scott starts the show by showing one of his finished underground bunkers that is in the process of being completed on the preppers site which for obvious reason's is always kept secret to it's locations whereabouts. The furniture is in and the shelves are stocked to the gill with food and supplies to last several months if ever needed. As with most underground shelters that Deep Earth builds, there is usually custom features that the preppers request, and this build is no different. They come furnished with with full bathrooms and toilets, but this one comes comes complete with its own Bodee.

A new customer by the name of Shea Deagon enters the Deep Earth Bunkers warehouse and wants to invest in his own underground bunker mainly for protection for His Family in case Social Unrest was ever to start in the U.S. He has been prepping for several years and has a good stock pile of weapons and ammunition in case they are ever needed to protect his most precious assets, His Family.

Now Shea is not your every day part time prepper, far from it. This guy makes a living running a Company called 88 Tactical which is a 160 acre complex outside of Omaha, Nebraska and specializes in Civilian Weapons Tactical Training. 88 Tactical also runs Law Enforcement and Military Training Exercises dealing with real life situations. This type of training is a MUST for any serious preppers community that will need to function as One if the situation ever arises.

The Deep Earth Bunkers gets hired to build an 1100 sq.ft. Bunker that can house 4 people for up to 6 month's underground. Shane and 88 Tactical want to use this bunker as part of their training courses to demonstrate what it will be like to live and survive underground. When completed and fully furnished, Shea is looking at $450,000.00 to build this new underground addition for his complex.

A large part of this survival shelter's cost will be in the blast door itself because the location will be compromised and will automatically become a future target. Scott has an Air Cannon set-up in the shop capable of shooting a 2x4 over 600 miles an hour to test out his new inventions. He first starts with a very expensive $8,000.00  bullet resistant blast door that the 2"x4" punches right through. This Blast Door may be good enough for FEMA and it's regulations, but it's not good enough for Deep Earth Bunkers or the requirements of 88 Tactical. They go back to the drawing board to build the best blast door ever devised.

In the mean time Scott gets a call from another Prepper and client Mike Hagan's. Mike informs him that he got to his undisclosed bunker location and his generator has been stolen. The generator is located in it's own concrete bunker and buried separate from the main living quarters. Somehow they managed to steal his generator, but apparently nothing else was damaged or discovered. Mike is from Florida State and has his Bug Out a solid 300 miles away from the Coast and far away from civilization. He figures it's only a matter of time before some catastrophic event will hit the Earth and people will do whatever it takes to Survive.
